Hello, I’m George Alston Corley (“Alston” has a short “a” as in “cat”). I’m currently a Foreign language student at West Virginia University, studying Spanish and Chinese Studies. People are sometimes confused by that, and the story of how that happened to be my major involves a number of chance occurances, but as it happens with my native language being English, that probably gives me some level of skill in the three most important languages in the world. (English is not in the top three by native speakers, but second-language speakers and economic importance puts it up there.) I am currently wrapping a four-month study abroad at Zhejiang University in Hangzhou, China.
Anyway this blog is about things that I read about and play with from home (Lost in my Mind), and my contact and experience with other cultures and places (Exploring this World). Basically a whole bunch of the random things that make up my life and interests. For the time being I am focusing on my life in China, but expect that to change a bit once I come home. Hope some of it is of interest.
